Appointment of new director

Perpetual Limited (Perpetual) today announced the appointment of Mr Paul Brasher to its Board effective 1 November 2009.

Paul Brasher is currently Chairman of the Reach Foundation, a Board member of the Victorian Arts Centre Trust and Honorary Treasurer of Vision Australia’s i-access project.

After an extensive career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr Brasher recently retired as the Chairman of the Global Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited. Prior to taking on the chairmanship of the Global Board, he also chaired the Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Australian firm.

During his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr Brasher was Client Service Partner and/or Lead Engagement Partner for some of the firm’s most significant clients, including several major Australian corporates. He also spent significant periods working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the US and UK.

In welcoming Mr Brasher to the Board, Mr Robert Savage, Chairman of Perpetual, said his broad business experience, both in Australia and internationally, would complement the existing strong mix of skill-sets and experience.

“Having consulted to major clients, particularly in areas such as corporate governance and board performance, he will prove a valuable addition to the Perpetual Board,” he said.

Aged 59, Mr Brasher has a Bachelor of Economics (Hon) from Monash University, Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
