Appointment of Non-executive Director

Aggreko plc, the world leader in the provision of temporary power and temperature control services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Marchant as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 November 2013.

Ian was until recently Chief Executive of SSE plc (formerly Scottish and Southern Energy plc) having previously been Finance Director of SSE and Finance Director of Southern Electric plc.

He is Chairman of Scotland's 2020 climate delivery group, Audit Committee Chairman and Senior Independent Director for John Wood Group PLC, Chairman of Infinis Energy plc and President of the UK's Energy Institute. He also serves as vice Chairman of Maggies Cancer Charity and is a Member of the Prince's Council of the Duchy of Cornwall.

His former appointments include memberships of the Scottish Energy Advisory Board, Energy Technology Partnership Advisory Group (Co-Chair), OFGEM's Environmental Advisory Board and the Engineering Construction Forum (Chair).
