Santos appoints international banker to Board

Santos today announced the appointment of Mr Kenneth Borda to its Board of Directors, effective 14 February 2007.

Mr Borda, 54, has extensive international business experience and is currently the Chief Executive Officer - Middle East and North Africa with Deutsche Bank based in Dubai. He has also acted as Chairman - Asia Pacific (ex Japan).

Prior to this, he was based in Hong Kong as Regional CEO - Asia Pacific, and in Sydney as CEO - Australia and New Zealand

In February 2007, he also joined the board of Fullerton Funds Management, the asset management arm of Temasek, in Singapore. Mr Borda was a Board Member of SFE Corporation (the listed national futures exchange in Australia) for over 5 years until its acquisition by the Australian Stock Exchange Limited in July 2006.

During his 18 year career with Deutsche Bank, Mr Borda held senior executive positions in the areas of investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, legal and corporate services.

Santos Chairman. Mr Stephen Gerlach said he was delighted that Mr Borda will join the Santos Board of Directors.

"It is very pleasing to appoint a new director with notable international and domestic legal, banking and management experience. I am confident Mr Borda will make a significant contribution to Santos", he said.
